Saxenda (liraglutide) is a daily weight loss injection that helps adults with a BMI of 30 or above lose weight by reducing appetite and making you feel fuller for longer. When combined with a low-calorie diet and exercise, Saxenda weight loss pens can help you lose weight and keep it off. Saxenda works by mimicking the hormone GLP-1, which naturally controls hunger. However, the manufacturer plans to phase out Saxenda in favour of Wegovy, a once-weekly injection with higher weight loss potential. So, if your preferred treatment is currently Saxenda, it might be the ideal time to reconsider your options. For more information on the differences between Wegovy and Saxenda or how to switch to Wegovy from Saxenda, read our guides.
